There is so much talk about social media these days and its ability to stay in touch with those you already know as well as creating new business connections. This post is suggests a few ways horse boarding farm owners can use ‘local media’ to connect with their boarding and lesson customers.
It has been stated that nearly 80 percent of all business will either come from or be directly influenced by word of mouth. So it seems reasonable to say that taking great care of your current customers has a tremendous influence on the attraction of future customers to your farm.
Staying in touch with your customers is key to keeping them at your farm. What better way to do this than use a simple software solution that does exactly that? By investing just twenty minutes or less each day you can:
• Update your customers on the daily maintenance of their horse
• Keep them informed on their horse’s training progress
• Link them to training or lesson videos and upload photos of their horse in action
• Instruct clients on a plan to improve their current lessons and
• Most important – let them know how well they are riding
I recently read an article in Equestrian Professional, which summed up quite a bit of the importance of staying in regular touch with customers:
“The last thing you say matters, because its the first thing your client gets asked!
For your student, the “how was your lesson?” question is often a loaded one. It can cause them to assess themselves as a rider and without the ability to explain what they did well; this simple question can erode a rider’s confidence as they try to examine and then to convey “how they rode”.
To compound the problem, when a rider is unhappy or confused about how they performed, what started out as a friendly “how was your day?” type conversation can turn into a “why am I (or you) paying for this?” argument, during which your student must defend their largely inexplicable and expensive sport to their family or friends. “ read more…
So even if you don’t subscribe to LaRaedo and find out how easy it is to stay connected with your customers, be sure to take the time TODAY and let you customers know how much you appreciate them and how well they are progressing.
Remember that keeping your current customers happy is one of the most effective ways of obtaining new customers. What ways do you use to keep everyone informed of their riding skills and how well you cared for their horse today?

Allow me to introduce you to LaRaedo, horse farm management software designed to save you time and money. Now more than ever, businesses need new methods that will attract and retain happy customers.
Imagine being able to track instantly and share with your boarders some of the everyday care that is offered for their horse,
Such as:
• when they were lunged
• if they were groomed
• when the last time the stall was cleaned
• when the vet visits.
On top of that, imagine also being able to assign tasks with your staff so that you can ensure that no detail is overlooked.
Yes, that’s right. Your employees can also have a personal login, which will provide them with a view of their own list of assignments for the day. For instance, you may have a trainer that is working with one of your boarders to train their horse. LaRaedo will allow the trainer to login and assign themselves tasks. That way, you and your customer will know what has been going on each day.
Then at the end of every month, all billable items that were tracked are pulled into one invoice – ready for you to click submit and send an automated notification to your boarder. Your boarder can log into their personal account online and review all of their horse’s completed tasks for the month as well as preview, print and save the invoice.
My idea for LaRaedo began quite a while ago and just last year I realized that NOW is the most opportune time to take this idea and make it a reality.
As a horse boarder myself, I observed how demanding it is to manage an efficient horse farm and the challenge to stay in touch with all of the customers.
I started researching what was currently available in the horse industry, in terms of a tool that would allow farm owners to improve their relationships with their customers and to organize their information more effectively. I realized there weren’t many options available that provided this service and automated the invoice process.
From there, I interviewed various farms and with their input began putting together a master plan of what the perfect software solution would look like. Over the past year I have worked with experts in software development to design what is now called LaRaedo, a full featured data management tool for horse farms of all sizes.
I am confident that LaRaedo will be of great value to all farm owners looking to increase customer loyalty and satisfaction.
If you have any questions, check out the Frequently Asked Questions page (FAQ) and if the answers are not listed on the FAQ, please feel free to send me an email at info@LaRaedo.com. I look forward to hearing from you and providing information you can use to help increase customer satisfaction on your farm!

Hi Everyone,
Wanted to let you know that we are in the final stages of testing of the pilot software. I want to make sure that all the bells and whistles are working properly enabling you to see the amazing value awaiting your farm and your customers! Just a few examples of the tasks to be tested are:
- Ensuring all menus work properly in Internet Explorer, Safari and Mozilla Firefox.
- The registration e-mails content is up-to-date as well as a bit of tweaking to the User Guides.
- The time stamp selection is ready to go no matter what time zone you are located.
- And that the automated invoicing feature is in top-notch condition.
Feels so good to know that we are almost there. I had several fine farm owners assist in testing and informing me of areas that needed changes which we were able to incorporate into this software version. I intend to listen to everyone and use this blog site to provide feedback and information updates as you become more familiar with how the software works and what might make it even better.

All the babies out to play
This is my first of many posts. I look forward to writing more about LaRaedo, how I came to view the need for something like this in the equine community as well as my ideas for future updates many of which will come directly from the subscribers.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this idea become something tangible and of great value to farm owners and their horse boarders.
I look forward to using the feedback from the subscribers and discussing how this software can create a more solid connection with their boarders.
I want to talk a bit about my background and how I came up with the idea of a web-based software solution that includes the entire farm, not just the farm owner. With technology the way it is today, it much easier to stay connected. Why not use it to keep boarders informed on all aspects of their horse from lessons and training to worming and dental care.
I look forward to interviewing the non-profit horse organization that win the monthly raffle.
Stay tuned for more posts in the near future!
